Flow Control -   DYNATORQUE Multi-Turn Bevel Gear Operators: Series BG

Features
DYNATORQUE Bevel geared operators are suited for applications where valve thrust and torque have been accurately calculated. All units have been designed to withstand loads far in excess of the rated thrusts and torques. Actuators in this category are totally enclosed, weather-proof, and permanently lubricated. Units are suitable for use in all handwheel and chainwheel applications.

Materials
Unit housings, retainers, bevel gears and pinions are cast ductile iron (exception BG-4, bevel gear and pinion are 8620 steel); input shafts are carbon steel with yellow zinc coating, seals are Buna-N rubber, gaskets are impregnated styrene butadiene.

Bevel Gear Drivers
Manganese Bronze Stem Nuts (Style C)
These drivers are normally associated with rising stem gate valves. They are cast Manganese bronze (ASTM 86300) and are supplied by Cameron’s blank and include mounting hardware to the appropriate bevel gear output gear.

Lug Drivers (Style D)
These drivers are provided as a means of rotating custom yoke nut drivers. The lugs interface with the driver which has been adapted to the valves yoke nut. They are cast in ductile iron and are provided with mounting hardware to the appropriate bevel gear output gear.

The formulas listed below will assist you in determining alternate handwheel sizes and rim pull requirements.

To find: Handwheel diameter for a given output torque at a given rim effort.
Multiply the output torque by 12 to get the Torque in in-lbs.
Then Divide this result by the mechanical advantage and multiply the result by 2.
Then divide this result by the handwheel rim effort.

To find: Rim Effort for a given output with a given handwheel diameter.
Multiply the output torque by 12 to get the Torque in in-lbs.
Then divide this result by the mechanical advantage and multiply the result by 2.
Divide this result by the handwheel diameter.

Handwheels are sold as a separate item.
