Tie-down screws in the top flange hold the hangers in place. Two plastic packing injection ports in the DCBS spool top flange allow the annulus seal to be externally energized. DCBS spools have two wedges to align the DCBS hangers. Tubing and pressure loads are carried by the 45Y shoulder located below the wedges. DCBS spools are available with bottom preparations for the standard secondary seals.

The DCBS dual hanger is a split-mandrel type hanger with type D annulus seals. These seals are energized by the injection of plastic packing through packing injection ports in the top flange of the spool. The DCB single hanger is a mandrel-type hanger.
